Pastor David is from South Georgia being raised in both Tifton and Valdosta. He is a graduate from Valdosta High School but has been converted to a Viking. He holds a Bachelor degree in Biblical studies and has been working on his Masters of Biblical studies from Anderson Baptist Seminary. Pastor David has been in the ministry since 1989 and has served three Southern Baptist Churches in South Georgia. He has been the Lead Pastor at Hahira First Baptist Church for over twenty five years. Pastor David’s passion is Loving God, Loving People, and Making Disciples for the advancement of the Gospel to all Nations for the Glory of God. He believes the Priority of life is, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matt 22:37-39 (ESV) He believes the Purpose of life is, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. Matt 28:18-20 (ESV) Bro. David enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf with his friends. He and his wife, Karen has been married for 37 years. They have two boys and three grandchildren.
Clint Carnine joined the ministry team as Minister of Music in May of 1994. He previously served as Minister of Music at Westside Baptist Church in Adel, Georgia. Clint is a graduate of Valdosta State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education. He is also employed by Cook County Board of Education where he has taught elementary school since 1996. He is married to the former Lori Heard of Quitman, Georgia. They are the proud parents of two sons Hampton and Harrison. The Carnine’s reside in Adel, Georgia.
Candace “Candy” Harper is serving Hahira First Baptist Church as the Ministry Assistant. She came to us after 34 years at the North American Mission Board (formerly Home Mission Board) and as the financial secretary and then receptionist for three other Southern Baptist Churches. She recently moved from Marietta to make Hahira her home. She has many relatives in the Hahira area where she has been visiting since a little girl. Her parents, Charles & Ethel Harper lived in Hahira for 20 years prior to their death. She enjoys spending time with friends and considers herself a dog lover. She believes in and supports our community outreach. Her desire is to serve God through serving Hahira First Baptist and its’ members.
